Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of QueryVeil ("the Service"), operated by QueryVeil ("we", "our", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

QueryVeil is an AI-powered data analysis platform that runs in your browser. It uses DuckDB WebAssembly for local data processing and cloud-based AI models for natural language analysis. Your data files are processed locally and are not uploaded to our servers.

2. Account Terms

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service
  • One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one account

3. Payment and Billing

  • The Service offers a 14-day free trial with full access to all features
  • After the trial, a paid subscription is required for continued access to cloud AI features
  • Subscriptions are available on a monthly ($19/month) or annual ($190/year) basis
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your billing settings
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods

4. Usage Limits

  • Cloud AI usage is limited to 50 million weighted tokens per month per subscription
  • Local AI (WebLLM, Ollama) has no usage limits
  • API rate limits apply: 60 requests per minute for AI endpoints, 10 requests per minute for billing endpoints
  • We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that abuse the Service

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use automated scripts to access the Service outside of documented APIs
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission
  • Use the AI features to generate harmful, deceptive, or illegal content

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and documentation, is owned by QueryVeil and protected by intellectual property laws. Your data remains yours — we claim no ownership over any data you upload or any results generated through the Service.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your information.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated analysis will be accurate or complete. You are responsible for verifying any AI-generated results before making decisions based on them.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QueryVeil shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

  • You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and contacting us
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • Since your data is processed locally in your browser, no data is stored on our servers that needs to be deleted

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
